Review of The Rapparees (Fairy Tale of The Pogues)
How a Pogues tribute band could draw such a small crowd on the week of Shane McGowan's passing is a mystery to me. It should have been a banging night, whereas it was so ill attended, half the venue was closed, and we were still rattling around in the remaining space. I've been to some excellent gigs at Leeds Irish centre. This sadly wasn't one of them.

Review of A Spectacular Night of Queen
Not the best. Nice venue, but not enough people there to make a good atmosphere. Band are a good pub band only. I do think only the singer was live and not the band. If you like karaoke, go see them.

Review of Elo Encounter
At 7:15 pm two friends and I arrived at the venue, ( Leeds Irish Centre), people were queueing out of the door. More tables and chairs had to brought in to accommodate the extra 250 unexpected attendees.
Access to an adjoining adjacent room was opened and a sliding partition revealed more folkwaiting to see the ELO Encounter.
I am a child of the sixties, and my teenage youth spent in the 70's.
To be absolutely honest, the only ELO song I could remember, beating out on the radio, was ' Mr Blue Sky.'
But when the band members stepped out on stage, lighting and light misting fogged an atmosphere charged with zany intro music and orchestral dynamite.
Led in part, by a beautiful , silver clad violinist, a flying bass guitar and of course, Electric piano and racing drums, from high hat to cymbals.
WOW, The room was rocking and the dance floor was packed with overjoyed movement, long forgotten signature moves, and couples freely expressing their earlier romances and another chance to be 17 again.
Hit after Hit after Hit was sang out of every remembered place and friendships restored, from the first time we heard the music and bought the vinyl.
Truly Magical.
