"I have to say as nights in Manchester go this weekend was right up there! I experienced the full Brutus Gold's Love Train experience at The Manchester Ritz and just like it was ‘back in the day’ it had everything! The years have not tarnished this wonderful musical brand event and if anything the show that was put on this weekend was as good as I’ve ever seen from it. With a queue outside the venue stretching all the way up to the Palace Theatre and more moustaches, afro’s and sequinned dresses than a retro episode of Top of the Pops you can’t help but smile and be swept along by it. Myself and Mark Warren Frankel felt distinctly ‘under-dressed’ as we rocked up but what a night it was! 70’s disco with sass and a good deal of ‘tongue in cheek’ party dancing and banter from the legendary host Brutus Gold and his many dancers! At a time when the world can be a bit dark and crazy for many we all need a night of pure joy and release now and then and that’s what this event and show does. I can’t wait to go back when the show returns to Manchester in December and this time I’ll get the double sided tape on my bald head and pop the biggest afro up top! If you can’t beat em join em!! Still buzzin’ and doing the hustle until the next time this love train stops at the station!"
