A historic leeds mill is set to open its doors to give visitors a blast from the past. History Lovers can take a trip back in time at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Visitors will learn how cloth was designed and made and also get a glimpse of 170 year old designs, during a heritage weekend to uncover the mills rich history.
The Mill was given a £2M facelift last year.and The open weekend is run in conjunction with English Heritage.
Five Yorkshire Artists will host a special showcase of works to mark the event.
Mel Davies and Kim Coley, will show colourful and evocative paintings.They are joined by RBSA sculptor Jonathon Newdick who creates works in bronze, wood and stone. Chris Moss will be exhibiting her amazing studies of wildlife,wrought in wire and metal.Eric Moss will be showing unique ceramic pieces incorporating metal and light. much of the work will be on sale.
Music will be performed by pianist Jeremy Russell.
The Arts Show and heritage weekend commences on Friday 7th September until Sunday 9th September 2012. This is a community event and admision is free.
