Review of Solstice Halloween - Fri 1st Nov - Athena Leicester

Disappointed by the venues effort to produce a Halloween themed event. There were no decorations, no live actors as mentioned in the description of the night and everything was really basic. Poor from the event organisers and Athena as the venue as past experiences there have been wonderful.
The sound system was awful, you could barely hear what song was playing as it got lost in the huge venue. Songs were repeated 2 or 3 times throughout the night.
The crowd was a mix, luckily wasn't so busy that you could still dance with space. Did get Prosecco sprayed all over me from another person in the event. Bottles should not be allowed in the dance floor. Totally ruined my Halloween makeup and my evening.
Overall, disappointing Halloween event. Won't be rebooking.

It was a great evening for 80’s music and I enjoyed it immensely for that. The mix of music for the first DJ on was a bit ‘jive bunny’ as the records were cut off quite a bit to the next track. Martin Kemp was great. It was like the MK Appreciation Society. He didn’t bring much actual talent, just all of his sparkle ✨. Which is a lot. What an 80’s icon! 40 years rolled back and you were transported to a simpler time. A truly wonderful event and the security was tight too. 9/10

Absolutely fabulous night. The support act was good, martins set was better than I expected. Recommend this show.

Downside was the music which the DJ plated before and after Martin Kemp.
It was not true 80’s as he was mixing. This didn’t get you in the mood. A high % of the attendees left soon after Martin preformed with many saying the same thing.
Also the 2 dancers were dressed in 70’s attire and not 80’! Not very good - if it’s an 80s night keep it at that.
Martin was great!

But the music before and after needs to be altered and play lots of different 80 s more like Madonna and wham
But all in all we had a good night
