Review of Comic Con Leicester 2017
My son and I had a wonderful day at Comic Con Leicester, there was plenty to keep us both entertained. All of the creatives and exhibitors we spoke to were polite, accommodating and genuinely friendly; the Silver Sabres team were particularly kind and really looked after us.
We can't wait until next year!

Review of Comic Con Leicester 2016
The event was very small, seemed to be a lot of market stall sales going on, as it was ordinary people selling old toys as well as some new things, also Web picture prints that are free through any new browser.
No access for disabled people or anyone with a pushchair, so I was very disappointed with the whole thing, as I was expecting a more American style event buy wasn't that at all, the only thing that was good was all the effort people went to that attended the day as they dressed up & looked great.

Review of Comic Con Leicester 2016
Given that I have never attended this event before I was very excited about attending. I am a huge geek who loves everything geek related. I was very impressed with the event and how everything was set out and displayed. I was pleased with my day and would definitely go again.

Review of Comic Con Leicester 2016
This was my first time attending anything like this sort of event. The amount of people dressed up was amazing and fantastic to see. The atmosphere was really friendly and the stall holders were really helpful. I loved it. I think it might need a bigger venue, though. It did get a bit tight when so many people were there - and whilst getting around was okay for those with walking difficulties, it would have been good to have had some seating available in the main hall, e.g. for watching the Cosplay competition.

Awesome event. Well planned out with lots of great stalls. My nephew (6) loved every minute of it and was very pleased to get some new comics to read!! Only thing I woukd say is that a bigger venue for next year woukd make the event even better

Review of Comic Con Leicester 2016
After attending Comic Con Leicester 2015 which was absolutely fantastic I had very high expectations for this event and I'm sad to say they were not met. The variety of stalls was much smaller and their merchandise was very limited. I know I shouldn't compare but it's the same convention and this year felt lacklustre. The displays and exhibits were also greatly reduced and the staff, while still super friendly, just didn't have the enthusiasm.
I still enjoyed myself but I have enjoyed myself much more at similar events recently.
I think I will be giving this a miss next year and saving my money for bigger events like MCM London.

Review of Comic Con Leicester 2016
Comic con Leicester was a really fun event, lots of interesting stalls, artists and gaming areas. Pretty much every aspect of geek culture was addressed. The professional photographer was a good touch for the cosplayers too.
The only down sides were the venue and the programme. The Athena, being an old theatre/cinema didn't offer easy disabled access to the upper floor, as there was lots of stairs. Also with all the tables set up this generated narrow walk way areas where people couldn't pass easily leading to bottlenecks, particularly on the upper floor (this happens at most cons but in an enclosed space this felt worse). It also didn't help that they had the heating on but that wasn't the events fault!
The program of talks didn't seem to be well publicised and appeared to be the same talks on both days too. The cosplay masquerade was fun though, was well attended and was a good finale to both days. There were lots of projected screens around the downstairs with the comic con logo, maybe these could have been used to promote the other things going on at the con.
Overall I enjoyed both days of the event. It's good to see cons like this one being well attended, I would recommend this event and looking forward to next year.
