C’mon Leicester, where’s your musical education …. ? A turn out of 30 doesn’t do these two justice, especially at the great value price offered by this gig !

Great sets from Sweet Baboo, and Clementine March who seems to be on a creative roll at the moment and won her audience over charmingly ! She’s turned the title track of her 1st album, Le Continent, (Jan. 2020), into a set - closing rock-out. New EP just out on cassette & download, and a 3rd album on the Lost Map label is imminent.

Stephen warmed us up with a few of his timeless tracks interspersed with material from his just-out The Wreckage LP woven together with his usual quick wit and a fine eye and ear for the audience. These often dryly humorous songs taste and smell of the Welsh rivers, coast and countryside, but at their core they paint a much more all-encompassing picture; you can visualise the people and their small stories and big lives, and say to yourself ‘yes, I can relate to that’.

Good friendly staff at the venue we’re worth a mention also. But the city council seem to have killed off these streets by relocating all the parking…. The thousands of taxi ranks were all deserted even at 11 pm. I didn’t hang round till 4 a.m. to see if the city center ever awoke !!

Oh it was simply lovely to see lil wee Jodan on stage with the crowd hollaring at 'im! He thrives in it! Great atmosphere, and a cheeky crowd, and you can't go wrong!
