Dark Materials A new programme of art events, by today’s artists, born from an unlikely alliance between art, history and biker culture. It’s for (almost) everyone. Dark Materials offers a mix of the playful, and irreverent, casting a new light on this incredible late mediaeval castle, and the modern day knights passing by. TRUST NEW ART where contemporary art joins historic settings Tod Hanson, Horsepower Vault Sat 24th September – Mon 26th October 11am - 5pm Explore six floors of Tattershall and discover Horsepower Vault. This gigantic sculpture explores the architecture and mediaeval heraldry of the castle. The artist has brought together the designs and forms of combustion engine chambers with painted decorative details drawn from the visual clues left by history. Tattershall’s Alternative Village Fete Sat 15th & Sun 16th October 11am - 5pm Presented by home live art. The grounds of Tattershall will be transformed into a gothic inspired country fete, where all the stalls are skew-whiff versions of everything you’ld expect at a traditional British fete but with a dark twist! Special guests at the fete include sculptor Joe Rush with his mutant machines and a modern day collection of beautiful bikes from local Lincolnshire bike clubs.
