The Cellar Club, Aigburth Peoples Hall

We went to see BEX MARSHALL after hearing a track on Paul Jones' show. She was very good and just needs a break to make it big. Her guitar playing was excellent and she has a good blues voice, reminded me a bit of Janis Joplin. We heard one number from the resident band, The GUTTERFIGHTERS, and they were good too. There was another band on too, but I have to say that although they were obviously good at what they do, they were not for me.(Sorry but I don't remember the name).
The venue appears to be a community centre and as such and the fact that night was billed as a Freshers Event I thought that the drink prices would be low. They weren't, however the entrance fee was very low. The place smells a bit mouldy but it was ok. I don't think that there was a person there young enough to be a Fresher.
All in all it was a good night
