Review of Brookside Quiz Hosted By Jimmy Corkhill
The host was too busy drinking, name dropping and giving answers away to keep it together. He appeared to be drunk by the time he was giving out the answers. It got quite embarrassing and tedious.
I have since found out that the host does other quiz nights around the city at a much lower charge to the punters, on reflection £8.50 is exspensive for a bog standard pub quiz. The promised prizes did not appear apart from bottles of pressecco.
The whole evening ended up being a very poor experience that I would not choose to repeat.

Review of Brookside Quiz Hosted By Jimmy Corkhill
Awful left halfway through couldn't hear a thing and the questions weren't even really brookside related and format was rushed. Also toilet facilities for women appalling only one available and not clean

Review of Peep Show Quiz Night (Hosted by Jeff from Peep Show)
We attended the 'Peep Show Quiz' in a group of 4. I liken the group to a party of well trained veteran marines, travelling to Liverpool with one objective in mind - to annihilate everyone in our way using our particular set of skills.
We started the quiz really well and basically scored full marks on pretty much everything, barely needing to confer with any question given our extensive knowledge, which included knowing where actual actors were born and their star signs.
Now there were some really knowledgeable people undoubtedly in attendance, however the use of mobile phones was too excessive. I suggest that Skiddle ensures everyone hands in their phone at the start of the quiz and destroys them in a bucket of acid, or asks for them to be switched off. Whatever is easiest.
One of the major disappointments was the food at the venue. Weirdly I had a pretty sweaty and meaty burger which I'm not complaining about, what I am complaining about is the 'Vegan Stand'. When I eat, I eat so knowing that an animal has sacrificed itself for me, and I like that. I looked around the audience and could tell everyone had the same outlook - we all liked fast cars, women with big boobies and we don't want the Euro. Furthermore, buffalo wings (steamed cauliflowers) were frankly an insult. Nobody queued and they wont have sold a bean, they wasted not only their time, but people in the queue who were briefly considering trying steamed leek & coriander or whatever it is vegans eat. I have to say though that the dessert stand and meat one were terrific, so fair play to them, however they were so busy as the vegan stand may as well not have been there as I have previously outlined.
The worst thing though was the music element of the quiz. I wouldn't have minded if we got beat after we messed up the John Lewis question and another team got full marks. However, for Cliff Richard to be an answer in a peep show quiz, a show where he is never ever referenced is invalid. In my mind, we won the quiz and once we crunched the numbers, we found that if we averaged our previous score throughout the quiz in the music round, we would have comfortably won. You could argue that taking part is what is important, but it isn't. Winning is key and anything less is a total disgrace. I appreciate that I am bitter, but I know the calibre of the team I was a part of - we got all the abbreviations without clues before Jeff realised he needed them.
It was a night that ended in crushing disappointment, nearly destroyed a friendship group and family, and ultimately ensured I cried myself to sleep. I implore you, from one Peep Show enthusiast to another, attend the quiz however revise agriculture in the 16th century, Thomas Edison or Umbrella manufacturing because if they replace the music quiz with something more relevant, it could be any of these.

Review of Peep Show Quiz Night (Hosted by Jeff From Peep Show)
An excellent evening. Neil was such a funny host and more than willing to have a photo taken with him after the show! The quiz was diverse and full of fun rounds to take part in. It was a smart idea to have a Snapchat round as well at the start of the quiz, making good use of apps. A great night and would thoroughly recommend it to Peep Show fans who weren't at the event.

Review of Peep Show Quiz Night (Hosted by Jeff from Peep Show)
There were (I believe) 9 rounds of the Peep Show quiz, 7 of which were absolute quality. However, the first round got things off to a bit of an angry start. Usually in a pub quiz it is frowned upon to use your mobile phone. It's not very often you are told at the beginning of the quiz to 'have snapchat open and please add this account for the picture round'. Now, I'm all for saving paper and that.. but what I don't like is seeing each of the 30+ teams get their phones out in unison and start looking at pictures on snapchat. I thought that part completely opened the quiz to cheating.
Secondly and definitely more importantly, there was a 'music round'. You would assume this would be snippets of music from Peep Show such as Flagpole Sitta, Pip Pop Plop and maybe a 'Man Feelings' track. However, we heard tracks from Cliff Richard, Joni Mitchell and other popular artists that had nothing to do with Peep Show. We were told they 'linked' in some way but the link was so loose to Peep Show, it just didn't fit in the quiz. I go to a Peep Show quiz expecting Peep Show questions. At no point should I be expected to learn the music of Cliff Richard. As a result of this, a guaranteed 1st place (we scored full marks in all other rounds) turned into a saddening joint 4th, purely because our knowledge of overplayed, popular music was not up to standard.
I would highly recommend the quiz to anyone into Peep Show and popular music. If you aren't into popular music though, there's 1 round that will undoubtedly catch you out. I plan to one day re-visit another Peep Show Quiz and win, in order to get lifetime quiz tickets and eventually change the quiz for the better - with the exclusion of the music round.
Jeff was very friendly and overall a bit of a dude. Enjoyed him!

Review of Cult Cinema Night - The Big Lebowski
Good night, great film. A few teething issues as you'd expect with a new venue but nothing that can't be fixed. Food prices are a bit steep. Paid £7.50 for the saddest looking burger I've ever seen.

The Dude Abides! Fantastic night in this newly opened venue watching my fave film. White Russians a plenty. They even had a rug on the floor by the entrance. Would definitely come again. Thanks. Macca 😎🎳🥃
