Review of Maxïmo Park: Album Launch Show
Maximo Park ALWAYS entertain, Paul Smith has humour, charisma, energy and makes the crowd feel inclusive. The album launch show and a few extra hits made it a fantastic show in an "intimate" venue. You can't go wrong with a Maximo Park live show. Great songs, Great band great evening out!

Review of Shed Seven 'Liquid Gold' Album Launch Show
Shed Seven are on fire lately. Not that they haven't always been great but they've really hit their stride and with one, potentially two (depending on how today's album chart lands) number one albums in a single calendar year, the band can do no wrong. This show was only a taster of the main event to come at the sold out Mountford Hall in November but if this showing is anything to go by, it's going to be one hell of a party.
The venue is ok. It has a lot of steel columns (well, it is in the basement of an old brewery complex so only to be expected) which make for some obstructed views and the bar isn't great, which, considering the label/record store/venue was born out of a pub, is a little odd but hey, it's a gig venue not a fancy wine bar. Still, do better Jac.
All in all, a great night with a great band. Up the Sheds.
