Dissapointing

UB40 - Liverpool Cathedral

Awesome event! Awesome venue! My first of many events hopefully. Sound could have been better, not sure if this was down to the acoustics of the building. Supporting band was really irritating though - Gabriella - never heard of her... Sounded a bit like Macy Gray, but only Macy Gray can get away with a voice like that. Crowd got a bit restless waiting, but then again there wasn't exactly a given time for the performance to start - I think they did really well considering they were let down by Astro. And they more than made up by singing 3 songs after saying 'goodbye'.

PS: Some of these lot use to live opposite me! Thought I'd just add that useless piece of information in here!

Wir sind aus Hamburg angereist, um endlich UB 40 wieder live zu sehen. Nach sehr vielen Konzerten mit UB 40 seit 1980 war dies die großartigste Location in welcher wir diese Band erleben durften.
Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Abend in Liverpool!

A great night but we was left for an hour & 15 minutes before the first act came on stage. Then we had to wait another 45 mins before UB40 actually came on stage. We was very bored n uncomfortable having to stand for all that time. The music was good n the Cathedral was amazing. Looking forest to April 14 now.

The band were rather late arriving on stage and people were becoming restless. Whilst the instruments could be heard well, the singers could not be heard clearly enough, and I agree that whilst the cathedral is a lovely building, the acoustics were not good. When the audience was being addressed by those on the stage their voices were muffled. Seating would have been good too, as most of the night me and a friend were knocked by people squeezing past us to get drinks, return to their friends etc. Saw the band at the Phil about 3 years ago- a much more enjoyable experience, we didn't stick to the floor by spilt alcohol here! The band are really good, so this was a shame! And no red wine!!, why? In a cathedral-you think they would have a "stock" of it, and Red, Red Wine, best song ever, but none in sight! Thank God they played it!!!

Great night really well organized event,Would of liked a few more of there old songs though.Good place to hold an event.

Liverpool cathedral UB40

Was really looking forward to this BUT it seemed to to take forever for the band to arrive on stage and when they did we're treated by several boos . Even though the cathedral is totally stunning we felt the it was too big and the acoustics were mufferly and the sound wasn't clear which was disappointing . Also would of liked UB40 to have played some older stuff. We left early !!

Fabulous show as always, even though Astro was missing,it was still an amazing evening,roll on April 2014.

Great gig

Wow the cathedral is a great place for gigs was spectacular, if only ther was more going on there, The UB40 was a great show although i would of liked it more if they would of sang more of the older songs (tyler, king, maddam madusa etc) and if they played a bit longer, was a good show nevertheless.

the venue blew my mind, got to see it during the day and i couldn't wait to see the place fill up. the music wasn't to my taste...but i knew that before i went so i can't comment on that. drinks were a lot cheaper than i expected, given the venue. i must've spoken to every person i saw that night, everyone was really friendly.

Awesome!

Truly brilliant night, a real one-off experience. Amazing setting, brilliant DJs and lighting, and fair drink prices. Totally recommended, can't wait for the next one!

Cathedral

This was genuis!! The venue literally took your breath away, it looked incredible and better than I expected. Sound was great if you were in the thick of it!

Loved the 'spiritual zone' and thought that in general this was a night that wont be forgotton in a hurry! Hernan smashed it and last track gave me goosebumps.

well done Freeze! Please do another cathedral night soon!!
