Review of Liverpool Celebrates
The acts were all brilliant. So good to see Holly Johnson with a crack live band doing all the FGTH classics. And Space were stunning, as always. The beer was too expensive, but that's typical. However, my one big gripe is who let the idiot loose on the choice of songs between acts? They could have kept the atmosphere going with a choice selection of great songs (the day was called Liverpool Legends, but no Beatles was played?) Instead, everytime a band left the stage we had to endure tepid, faceless, modern dance and R&B music, that it was clear nobody there gave a hoot about, let alone enjoyed. Aside from that, though, a brilliant day.

Review of Liverpool Celebrates
I'm late into my pregnancy and had already had tickets. I thought this would be an ideal day outing with my husband and friends.
Prior to arrival we were told
It is an accessible venue however on arrival there were x6 deck chairs all being used and when asked for any more we were told to go to the accessible area and sit there after waddling down to sit in this area staff then told us we needed wrist bands which no one told us before heading there loosing our bench we were already sitting on. I asked if I could take a chair to sit on as I don't have a wrist band and didn't want to unessisery walk back to the entrance to walk back again. The man was reluctant to pass me a chair however I asked to radio over to someone to ask. We had to leave early due to the discomfort and missed the events we wished to have seen. I wouldn't go again. Purely on the fact how useless and unhelpful staff were. It felt like I was discriminated.

Review of Liverpool Celebrates
The decision not to allow re-entry is ridiculous. I am coeliac, I cannot have any food containing gluten. Not a single food stall had anything gluten-free, not even a chocolate bar. This was expected and I had appealed to be allowed to leave the venue to grab something safe to eat. I was told someone from Liverpool Celebrates would get back to me (email) but they never did. Security at the gates confirmed if we left we would not be allowed back in.
Considering the gates opened at 1pm and the event ended each day around 9-10pm, that's a very long time to expect someone to go without food! This meant that we had to eat before we went in, limiting the amount of time we could stay. We had early-bird tickets and the FAQ section of the website wasn't there when we booked so we were unaware of this rule when we booked the tickets.
We attended Sun and Mon but only for the last couple of acts because of the ridiculous no re-entry policy. What a waste of money!
I would recommend better security with visibility into the crowd. Having them at the sides and front but on the same level as the crowd meant they couldn't see the horribly drunk and aggressive man that shoved me so hard I almost fell (in his attempt to get to the front). I have a fractured vertebrae so the pain this has caused is intense. He was then face-to-face with my husband for a good 3-4 minutes threatening him with violence because I got in his way and 'was trying to ruin his f***ing birthday'. I honestly thought he was going to headbutt me at the very least as he came about an inch away from my face screaming obscenities. People around us could see what was happening but did nothing (they said later they were scared to get involved). Having a security presence on the stage for instance would give you an overview of the crowd and stop this horrible aggression from happening. I was left shaking and crying from the experience. Completely ruined the evening. The Queen tribute were excellent but we were obvs not in the mood to enjoy it after this confrontation. Better view of the crowd needed by security. Monitored cameras would do it.
Overall, not a positive experience although the music itself was excellent.
