Review of Nick Harper
The night started well with a lovely pint of pale ale and a fabulous pizza, albeit we had to eat with the unpleasant aroma from people vaping around us. Entering the performance room, I was nervous there was no testing/vacc check done, just name taken. It was great hearing Nick starting off with some of his older stuff but his usual between-songs banter was marred by would-be comedians and frustrated musicians shouting out and interrupting his flow. This went on continually and at one point he felt he had to explain a simple analogy of the coming song, was forced to start over to try and make his point, then it deteriorated to moronic wisecracking from the cretin mentality within the audience. An anti-vax comment, followed by the pony-tailed half wit in front of us starting his anti-French performance, was sufficient ruination and we left. Collective buffoonery should not overbear an artist's performance and I think Nick lost the room early on. Why do people pay money to watch a talented artist and then talk throughout his performance? To see someone of Nick's ability in performance and song-writing for fifteen quid is a gift, unfortunately it came in an idiot package.

Review of Nick Harper
As a 20 years plus fan of Nick Harper, I was really excited to see him again after lock downs and covid. The venue was very small which initially was a good thing. Once inside it became apparent there was a large group of men out to ruin the night which saw many people leave the gig due to their behaviour. Nick soldiered on despite this awful carry on, a few of us tried to reason with this gang to little avail. I felt the venue owners took too long to deal with the situation therefore I imagine a lot of people that attended had their evening ruined and also painted a poor picture of Liverpool. Every gig I've seen with Nick has been amazing and at the end of the night we did get to speak to him and he graciously signed his new album but he was shocked. Its not put me off seeing him again but not at that venue. Thanks Nick for trucking on the music was fantastic!
