Review of Stornoway: Best of Unplucked

This was a brilliant event - absolutely top class quality and atmosphere. The church venue was perfect, the crowd were exceptionally behaved (fully appreciating the performance with nary so much as any chatter during any part of the concert - they gave the band their full undivided attention throughout!) and the music was just magical and so appropriate for such a relaxed and tranquil setting. Furthermore, not one song was beset with any sound problems. You could hear a pin drop in all the silences. Full credit to the sound people for making this occasion so exquisite, and of course to the lovely guys in Stornoway for putting this wonderful show on in such perfectly stately settings. A great way to get us all ready for the festive season.

Amazing night. One criticism. If you are going to open the doors an hour early, say so. Don't advertise the event as starting at 7pm, and have the band appear at 8. I'm 70, and on my second set of knees. People like me need to know these things - it would have been good to know it was a standing gig too. Fortunately a kind member of staff rustled up a couple of chairs. The band was amazing.

A great band, weird little venue for a gig but it worked.
