Review of The Revolution Will Be Live, A Tribute to Gil Scott-Heron
WRONG VENUE! The acoustics in St George's are dreadful for non-acoustic music. It ruined the whole event. Even the talking through a mic was very hard to understand. It was a waste of time and money. The music would have been excellent, but I can't rate it highly because it was an echoey mess. This also means that the price was a rip-off...if the music was audible it would have been 5* cheap as chips.

Live music at St George's Hall
What an amazing venue for live music. Missed a couple of bands but got to see the main 2 I was looking forward to the most. Heard a lot about Tea Street Band and missed their set at Delamere Forest in the summer, but pleased I got to see them list time round. Small technical issue at the start! This actually added to the event.
Wonder what the industrialists would have made of Charlatans? Their statues were unmoved, but I was bouncing like a man possessed on a wonderfully polished floor 10ft from the stage. Superb.
I have had the good fortune to see The Who, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Stones, Stone Roses, Clapton and many, many more legends, but this is one of the best gigs I have ever been to.

Night ruined by poor sound
Possibly Stanhope was superb (as I was expecting/hoping). Unfortuntly I couldnt say/review the show as we got sat upstairs where the speakers were not working (and as it turns ot the sound people/people working at St Georges hall knew very well they werent) so we couldnt hear for the most part what was being said on stage.
Also being forced by staff to sit in the balcony when there were a very good amount of seats still free in the main room (and stayed so throughout the show). Lazy staff/organisation in my opinion. Least they could have done is filled the main room up when they knew people upstairs couldnt hear the show.
I honestly hope the use of St Georges Hall for stand up shows doesnt become a regular occurence as I wont be looking to go back in a hurry.
