West Tower Hotel Aughton

West Tower dates back to 1785, having been commissioned by Liverpool shipping magnate Lord Alfred Holt. The tower located on the west part of the house allowed Holt’s staff to locate ships arriving to Formby Point from North America and India.

The master of the house could then be notified that his ships were just hours away from docking in Liverpool.

Today, the venue exudes a sense of history and opulence with the rooms cleverly blending the old with the new to stunning effect.
