Easter Events Guide

With boozy bingo, warehouse raves, places to sip a cocktail while shooting zombies, sports bars, LGBT+ clubs, and so much more, Liverpool’s nightlife scene isn’t messing about. An absolutely incredible city to spend a night in, we reckon everyone should go on a Liverpool night out if they have the chance.

Here’s our guide to Liverpool’s nightlife areas and our favourite bars and clubs, so the next time you head out, you can ensure you end up at the perfect place for you.

Nightlife areas

Liverpool’s nightlife areas are diverse, with some for partying until the sun beats down, some with a more relaxed atmosphere, and some for the LGBT+ community. Here are the best nightlife areas in Liverpool and what you can expect in each.

The Baltic Triangle

For a casual, cool night out, The Baltic Triangle is Liverpool’s best nightlife area. Expect quirky venues from clubs in old warehouses to breweries, distilleries, and bars in one. It’s also home to the Baltic Market, which hosts events such as Oktoberfest, Christmas parties, and live music. There are also lots of street food vendors, pop-up venues, and hugely adored start-ups to discover.

Pride Quarter

Liverpool's nightlife for the LGBT+ folk is alive and well! Located on Stanley Street, the Rainbow Quarter is home to many cracking venues. There are clubs with crazy lighting and some of the world’s biggest drag acts, and cosier venues with a relaxed atmosphere and comfy seats. As to be expected in an area designed for the LGBT+ community, the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming.

Ropewalks and Seel Street

The Ropewalks area and Seel Street is beaming with bohemian vibes. In the nighttime, the area is heaving with well-dressed crowds looking to enjoy the many diverse bars and clubs in the area. From cocktail bars to dive bars to themed clubs with dancers, it’s unlikely you won’t find the perfect venue for your Liverpool night out around here.

Concert Square

With loads of different venues to visit, it’s no surprise Concert Square is one of the more popular areas. And it caters to those wanting a long night out or just a relaxing pint. Incredibly social, the bars run along the outside with a large square of outdoor seating in the centre. So if you fancy making some pals, this is a brilliant spot!

Cavern Quarter and Mathew Street

Home to a few chains such as Slug & Lettuce, Yates, and The Alchemist, the Cavern Quarter got its name from The Cavern Pub, a vital venue for The Beatles when they were starting out. There are also some unique venues, such as Avenue, a club with a ball pit and a few old-school pubs.

Docklands

The Docklands, just North of the city centre, is one of Liverpool’s nightlife areas that has exploded recently. Old warehouses have been transformed into some of the city’s best nightlife venues. We don’t recommend the Docklands area for casual drinks, but if you’re looking for live music in killer clubs, head over!

Best bars - Skiddle selects

Liverpool night’s out are tough to beat, largely because of the abundance of choice. If you love playing games, there’s a bar for you. If you prefer a chat over your drink, there’s one for you too. All you have to do is know where to look…

The Lisbon

If you fancy checking out the Pride Quarter but aren’t a huge fan of proper clubs, The Lisbon is a great, iconic bar to check out. In a Grade II Listed Building, The Lisbon is naturally beautiful. As an LGBT+ bar, it’s incredibly welcoming and is considered one of Liverpool's first gay bars.

PINS Social Club

If you don’t really know what you’re after, PINS is a fantastic shout. It has the biggest rooftop bar in Liverpool, bowling, live performances, ping pong, shuffleboard, a karaoke room, and food if you get peckish. All about fun, an evening at PINS makes a killer Liverpool night out.

Botanical Garden

Chatting over a couple of gins and dancing in a beautiful outdoor area sounds like a brilliant night. If you agree, you’ll love The Botanical Garden in The Baltic Triangle. And in the summertime, they offer gin slushies so you can get your gin on and cool off. Lovely!

ArCains

Getting drunk and demolishing your mates at Mario Kart? Sounds like a proper good Liverpool night out to us! Once you pay to enter ArCains, all video games are free. There’s also shuffleboard, pool, PinBall, boxing, basketball, and more across three floors to check out. It’s one of Europe’s biggest arcades, and there’s beer and cocktails. Sorted.

Hobo Kiosk

Self-referred to as the “friendliest and strangest little pub in the Baltic Triangle”, Hobo Kiosk serves local beers and gins and has a cosy, unique atmosphere. Best for those who like a chat with their drink, you won’t find loud DJs and sweaty dancefloors in this quirky place, rather people talking all night long.

Buyers Club

A bit of everything in one, Buyers Club is the place where you can grab a delicious bite to eat, sip a drink in the garden, and enjoy live music. Offering “good spirits and good times to good neighbours”, the vibe is casual and super social.

Berry and Rye

Recently named one of the most Instagrammable bars in Liverpool, Berry and Rye is an independent venue decorated with retro lamps and red booths. Sit yourself down in a comfy booth before ordering a few moreish cocktails and chatting away with blues and jazz tunes in the background.

The One O'Clock Gun

Rustic and simple, The One O'Clock Gun is a lovely after-work drinks bar. There’s seating outdoors overlooking the Albert Dock and indoors has your typical pub feel. They've got a bit of everything - food, wine, cocktails, coffee, and lots of beer. It’s a lovely place to just unwind and roll into the weekend.

Best clubs - Skiddle selects

It wouldn’t be a proper mad one without hitting a few clubs, would it? Thankfully Liverpool has plenty that we dream of tearing up all week. Whether you’re after a huge warehouse rave or cheap drinks and cheesy tunes, Liverpool’s got it!

Heebie Jeebies

Some people keep to themselves when they’re out, some people end up buying shots for the new best mates they made in the smoking area. If you’re the latter, Heebies is for you! Popular with students thanks to the budget-friendly drinks menu and crazy offers, expect a younger, lively crowd here.

Electrik Warehouse

Electrik Warehouse has regular club nights with lasers, CO2 cannons, free shots, free candy floss, free face paint and more. There are also drink deals like £5 double vodka mixers and £2 shots to get in on! Expect five rooms of pop, hip hop, RnB, indie, mashups, lots of students, and a laid-back atmosphere.

24 Kitchen Street

This Liverpool club is more for those who prefer smaller venues instead of multifloored mazes. With lots of incredible DJs, a huge variety of genres played, and an intimate feel, 24 Kitchen Street is a much-loved nightlife spot in the city.

Camp and Furnace

With loads of killer events, there’s something for everyone at Camp and Furnace. While it is a club, it also sees other events like Oktoberfest, Shrek-themed quizzes, and live music. They even serve food! The music depends on what kind of club night it is, with indie, disco, EDM, pop, hip hop, and more having been represented at their nights.

Invisible Wind Factory

Invisible Wind Factory is a massive 1,500-capacity warehouse which has been on the scene since 2016 and quickly made a name for itself as one of the best Liverpool nightlife venues. Impressive lighting and decor allow you to submerge yourself in the music, which can be anything from disco to drum and bass to hip hop, depending on when you go.

Now you know a bit about the city’s nightlife, any night out in Liverpool will be a brilliant one. Use this knowledge wisely.
