Smart Energy GB has launched its ‘Areas for a Beautiful Future’ Index to celebrate the communities across Great Britain creating a more sustainable future. West Lothian has been recognised as an ‘Area for a Beautiful Future’ in the index celebrating the steps that communities are taking towards a cleaner, greener, smarter future. To celebrate, presenter Helen Skelton, along with a representative from Smart Energy GB, is inviting the West Lothian community to come down to this free celebratory event and collect their free gift of a flowering plant in recognition of the amazing efforts they’re making in their local area to create a cleaner, greener, smarter future. The flowering plants will be available on a first come, first served basis. Helen, together with Smart Energy GB, will also be awarding West Lothian with a commemorative road sign from Smart Energy GB, to celebrate their officially recognised status as an ‘Area for a Beautiful Future’, and members of the public are invited to get their photo taken with the sign recognising their official new status. Local residents wanting to celebrate their area’s new status on social media are encouraged to use the hashtag #IWantABeautifulWorld.
