Malory Eagles men's volleyball team face London Polonia in the Super8 quarter finals at the University of East London Sports Dock on Saturday 31st March. Malory Eagles women's team will face Polonia IMKA London Women at 1pm while the men's volleyball match starts at 3.30pm. The Super8 league for men and women was launched in 2010 by Volleyball England with new look playoffs and finals. The Super8s is the pinnacle of the National Volleyball League, containing the very best talent in England. Jefferson Williams, the head coach of Malory Eagles Volleyball Team, says; “Malory Eagles men and women’s teams have had recent success against Polonia but this will count for nothing in the Super8 quarter finals. The pressure will be on all four teams and I believe that the team that deals best with the pressure will be successful in reaching the Finals in April.” Mark Kontopoulos, Head Coach of Polonia IMKA London Women’s team comments, “The team has been training hard in order to ensure we are fully prepared for the Super8s quarter finals. It is the premier volleyball competition in England and our ultimate goal is to defend our title”. While Michas Saller, Captain of London Polonia Men’s Team adds; “Following the successes of last season and becoming the first Super 8 Champions the team is keen to emulate the same success. In the London Olympics year this is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase to the public, supporters of the club and our sponsors Tyskie the sport of volleyball at its highest level”.
