Review of October Jazz Piano Series
I only attended the Nikki Iles duo concert within the Jazz Piano Series. Nikki played beautifully (as always) - exciting, melodic and inventive. And what a formidable duo with Tom Farmer on bass. Great playing and the two of them together complementing each other brilliantly - so in tune with each other. I thought it was a lovely programme with a good mix of styles.
This was the first time I had been to the 1901 Arts Club and what a lovely intimate venue it is. And so friendly and really interested in the music. I have signed up for emails and certainly hope to attend future concerts.

Review of October Jazz Piano Series
Intimate and beautifully decorated venue which was perfect for the gentle but fabulous jazz of Nikki Iles and her bass companion. Bar was very slow but nothing felt rushed which actually added to the ambience of the evening.

Review of October Jazz Piano Series
This is a very atmospheric venue, being small and intimate; it is well suited to these 'chamber' jazz evenings. I hope the success of this series will encourage more similar artists to book the space.

Review of October Jazz Piano Series
C***king tiny venue with lovely little bar. Salon-type experience where you'd struggle to be closer to the artist playing. Banqueting chairs aren't the most comfortable but would definitely go back to this venue again!

Review of Mood Indigo Mondays feat. Graeme Flowers
What an excellent show and in the elegant setting of the 1901 Arts Club, which surely can't be bettered as an intimate venue in Greater London. Any gig featuring Graeme F. is a no-brainer, being one of the finest trumpet players on the UK scene, but taken to another level here with the support of MIE maestro Terry Collie and the ever-reliable Nick Lenner-Webster on bass. and focussing on the music and influence of the great Brazilian master. All the classics were there, including Desafinado, Wave, Triste and of course Girl from Ipanema, but also some great Jobim-inspired jazz standards such as Herbie Hanc**k's Dolphin Dance, Wayne Shorter's El Gaucho and Recorda Me (Joe Henderson). The highlight for me, however, was a stunning rendition of the great Freddie Hubbard's Little Sunflower with each of the musicians truly excelling themselves. Wow.

Review of Mood Indigo Mondays feat. Jim Mullen
Jim Mullen chose beautiful standards, was a great and entertaining raconteur with the audience. Terence Collie, jazz pianist played superb solos, his comping complimented Jimâ??s solos beautifully. Nickâ??s bass solos- amazing! All three players had amazing chemistry. At times, just two playing during soloing. The beautiful and intimate venue with a substantial audience was conducive to a classy performance by all. Loved it.
