The annual JTQ xmas party comes to 229 with special guest support from Speedometer and host and DJ Snowboy.
The James Taylor Quartet (JTQ) released their debut single 'Blow Up', a heavy funk version of the Herbie Hancock theme from the film of the same name, in 1987 to universal acclaim. BBC Radio 1's John Peel gave the single multiple plays on his show before the JTQ debut LP 'Mission Impossible' came out later the same year.
In 1988, JTQ released their signature tune 'Theme from Starsky and Hutch' which featured Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis from The JB's. JTQ went on to become one of the biggest band's of the worldwide 'Acid Jazz' scene gaining a reputation for their incredible live shows.
Speedometer are one of the UK's most established funk and soul bands. They have toured all over Europe and Japan releasing 8 studio albums, including collaborations with some of legendary names in soul and funk including Marva Whitney, Eddie Bo, Robert Moore, Billy Wooten and more.
