Review of City Splash Festival 2024
Great atmosphere and location, great line up, always a fab day and the food selection is good, drinks are a little expensive to be honest.
It would be good if artists/ schedule could be on time as it messes up if you want to see other artists at other tents, puts everything out of sync but still good.
Ground was completely saturated and like a mud bath but English weather can't be helped or controlled!! Defo go back next year!!!

Review of City Splash Festival 2024
The event was very good hosting something of that size obviously takes a lot of planning. The show ran pretty much on time and the artists did not disappointed so a massive well done ?'?πΎ.
The only issue I have was with the VIP area, my main issue was the viewing platform that could only hold about 20% of the people that were in the VIP area which led to numerous arguments as well as pushing and shoving. People paid a lot of money and expected to be able to see the show from the VIP area.
The viewing platform needs to be bigger than what was there. If this is not possible make it clear on the website.

Review of City Splash Festival 2024
Unfortunately having accessible needs, security lost control of the amount of people on the viewing platform which then didn't feel safe with people dancing, had to show people that I have an access card and needed to use the facilities urgently. And the organisers need to provide better covering from the rain.
Apart from these points the energy and the vibes was great.

Review of City Splash Festival 2024
I bought my tickets last minute, so paid near enough double. It was raining hard and they never provided provisions for this... ie: putting straw down around the bars, more plastic footpaths etc. People were slidding all over the place and dropping on their backs. Drink service is slow and prices are extortionate. It's a rip off. Not sure if I would go again!

Review of City Splash Festival 2024
The line-up was absolutely amazing. Capleton was brilliant. The worse thing other than the weather and muddy conditions in the park, was the astronomically over-priced food. There is a cost of living crisis and it was totally unaffordable for families. You should be able to bring in a picnic if you so wish or that is all you can afford. Also considering it is a reggae festival and the majority of people that attend are ethnic, the drink selection does not reflect the clientele. Should sell, Guinness, Dragon Stout, Heineken, Hennessy, and Wray and Nephew instead of over-priced spirits and beers that the majority do not even know or drink! It was great that the main headliners are all on one stage as last year that spoiled it as had to rush from stage to stage. Overall, this year was the best artist wise but worse weather wise. Not being able to bring your own food in spoils it as the food prices and queues were too much!!!

Review of City Splash Festival 2024
Great venue and music all round atmosphere great. However, having been to several gigs worldwide including Jamaica Sumfest which I'm missing as I'll be here in the UK, a couple of things were jarring: 1) The weather yesterday was BAD it rained all through the time I was there from 2pm. To be told by security that I couldn't take my umbrella into the venue because it had a pointed end and was considered dangerous. This was very upsetting as there was nowhere to shelter I was also told that I could bring my seat into the venue. I was very upset and ready to leave demanding a refund. Being expected to stand in the rain for over 8 hours with no shelter from the rain was ridiculous. After speaking with the supervisor, common sense prevailed, and I was able to enter the venue.
Bank holidays in the UK are notorious for bad weather the venue yesterday was steeped and waterlogged causing many slips and falls. I didn't notice any member of staff assisting people or trying to make the area as safe as possible.
I'm 65 and still go to concerts and festivals. Much as I like City splash, I'll be advising family and friends to stay at home if the weather is bad.
