Review of UK Garage Fest 2018
Having gone to each and every one of the previous UKG Festivals, this years was by far the most disappointing of them all! This was largely down to the shoddy venue that was chosen to host the event! UKG has always been an elegant sound from its roots and uprising; with ravers donning their finest threads, trousers, loafers, shirts and blazers through to the era of designer labels like the mad mosch, Iceberg and Evisu Jeans. All this glam coincided with the sexy sounds of the music, music that has needed to be held in fitting clubs! Now understandly, it would have been some challenge in finding a venue in the capital befitting of this sizeable event, however this years venue for me and many other ravers I spoke with, failed miserably!
The Coronet was the perfect setting and to think two years ago it held back to back UKG Fests on Good Friday and then the following day which for me were huge successes!!
They were also longer raves - 15hrs both days!!
I also feel like there should be a new skool Grime segment on the roster and ultimately I dont know why EZ has yet to be given top billing for any of these events!! How there can be a UKG Fest without Z is an absolute myth! Heartless Crew also need an hour long slot!
To end, you cannnot hold UKG dances in warehouses like its a Jungle or Drum n Bass rave where the large majority of ravers are off their faces on stuff!
Oh and having only one bar that accepts card payments...the less I say about that the better!
Please right these wrongs and address these viable concerns!!
Please and thank you!!
Disgruntled Raver.
Review of UK Garage Fest 2018
I enjoyed the whole experience, however being a raver from the old school ( 1997) I was looking for some of the old school DJs such as EZ, Scott Garcia, Martin liberty larner, Matt Jam Lemont, Jason Kay. As well as Mcs like: Melody, so solid crew, sparks and Kie, heartless crew, DT just to name a few. As these guys are still in the industry.
Many thanks
