Tales of Wrong If you took a turn at the bottom of York Way and found yourself supping pints whilst throbbing disco ravaged all around you; you'd most likely stumbled on the original Wrong. The place where the people of Jaded celebrated their emergence from the afterhours catacomb. Its housier sound and irreverent attitude meant escape was impossible.
You'd inevitably stumble out with a load of new mates, aching feet, and firm plans to meet at the next one. Of course, the music was incredible: Buzzin Fly, Freerange, Simple, Naked Music, Plastic City, 2020 Vision were mainstays. Whilst Lisa Shaw's 'Let it Ride', Bent's 'To Be Loved', and Badmouth's 'Anymore' were the anthems of this undercurrent of London's house history.
Tales of Wrong is the 2024 reanimation by resident Raymundo Rodriguez. He's invited friends from the original and chosen an East End boozer run by legends of the scene; the newly refurbished Horse & Groom, so pints and a booming system remain the order of the day. It all begins on Friday 27th September at 8pm. Whether you were there for the original or not; turn onto Curtain Road, order a pint, and let the Wrong consume you.
