About

A special Saturday night at Jamboree of Anatolian folk dance and cinematic instrumentals spanning the Middle East, North Africa and Scandinavia...

Headliner Olcay Bayir takes us on a journey through Anatolian folk dance tradition, presenting a performance filled with Anatolian folk dance songs derived from Kurdish, Turkish Armenian, Greek and Laz heritage. Singer-songwriter Bayir's music is a mixture of original compositions and folk songs of Anatolian heritage. Drawing from her Kurdish Anatolian roots, she sings songs of her past with a contemporary twist, reflecting her multicultural and multilingual background.

In support, the instrumental music of Trail of Ganoush takes us on an immersive journey of cinematic ambiance, lush vocal spheres and intricate rhythmic patterns - where Middle Eastern heat meets Nordic melancholy. A London-based world music duo formed of multi-instrumentalists Sass Hoory (oud) and Andrin Haag (piano), their compositions have influences from music cultures ranging from Middle Eastern music and North African rhythms to Scandinavian jazz. They released their debut single 'Orbital Hijack' in February, alongside a live performance video.
