About

Final Fantasy is one of the most famous video gaming franchises, becoming almost synonymous with the genre of role-playing video games. With its immersive worlds of highly developed, intriguing characters and cinematic feel, the game has inspired millions of fans worldwide.

From the earliest stages of its creation and Japanese cultural influences to its impact on fantasy role-playing games, our talk will explore why gamers still love Final Fantasy - and why Hironobu Sakaguchi’s vision still holds such power today.

Unravel the complexities and wonder of the Final Fantasy franchise by joining Darryl (Final Fantasy Union) on a journey that explores how major games, and sometimes minor games, have helped to shape the Legacy of Final Fantasy. Having written a book chronicling every single Final Fantasy game ever released, Darryl’s expertise and insights will help you see the game in new and exciting ways.

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!

During this time he's attended numerous trade shows, such as E3, Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show and interviewed many of the most important creatives associated with Square and Square Enix.

Darryl is also the author of ‘The Legacy of the Crystal’, an unofficial guide to the history of Final Fantasy.
