In this talk on creativity, Professor Vincent Walsh will discuss how humans create and become creative. Is it a gift or can it be trained? What is happening in the brain during a creative moment? Are there limits of creativity? Recent advances have revealed how different brain networks co-operate to enhance creativity and Vincent will show how this can be used in our own creative lives.
Vincent will also discuss his recent work on polymaths, people who are creative in many areas. He is a strong believer that our innate creativity and curiosity is repressed by an education system that focuses on passing exams instead of deep learning. In this lecture you will learn how to understand your own and others' creative processes, so you can become more creative!
Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!
