Review of Cafe Mambo Ibiza Classics London New Years Eve 2023/2024
I wasn't let in by the bouncers. Now I totally get that this was partly my fault because I predrinked too hard and I was a bit sloppy, but it's a long event and there was no final entry time on my ticket.
The bouncers unequivocally told my friends that there was no way we were getting in at all. This was at 11pm so there's still 6 hours until the event finishes. No "take a walk around the block for a couple of hours, watch the fireworks, drink some water, come back and we'll see". Not abdicating my own responsibility for ruining my night but I travelled an hour across London for this and an hour back on the tube after I was denied entry so it's not like I was so drunk I couldn't stand.
Again I'd understand if it was free entry and they knew they couldn't get any money out of me because I was unlikely to buy any drinks, but I'd already paid a lot of money for a ticket!

We had a great night, however on arrival was slightly worried that the venue was a bit run down and it was outdoors, some of it. We bought VIP tickets but wasnt worth it, it was just a balcony giving you slightly more space so if thats what you want then great. Definitely a casual vibe so dress appropriately. Lots of ladies in small dresses were freezing! Drink selection was pretty basic but acceptable. Music was great and atmosphere was pretty chilled. Quite a young crowd, would question ages on a lot of them! As individuals we had a great time because of the music. Would go again but for the music not the venue.

Security were a bit overly hostile, be prepared to show your ID and surrender your chewing gum! Cloakroom and drinks were a bit overpriced but DJ was amazing, good lighting and sound system. Venue is converted warehouse so quite chilly in winter, covered but still draughty, so wear layers.
