• Exploring the primal power of our voice and basking into the somatic experience of vibrations.
• Giving ourselves and each other permission to playfully experiment, free from performative expectations.
• Connecting with ourselves and each other, expanding the boundaries of our expression.
• Cultivating mindful presence and healthy nervous system regulation.
• Co-Creating a nurturing experience for those who think they can't sing, as well as those who love singing.

Kat Bonnyis a Songstress and Improv Vocalist steeped in ancient folk world music, jazz, and blues, with a passion for rewilding the voice using vocal improvisation to express our creativity from a more embodied, spontaneous and authentic place, exploring tribal and indigenous singing techniques from around the world, vocal harmonies, nature sounds, jazz scat and beatboxing.

Her ongoing healing journey from chronic pain and complex trauma, as well as her experience with shamanic trance states deeply informs her practice, exploring how voice, breath, sound and vibration affect our nervous systems and states of consciousness.

Event outline

Doors open at 18:45, to find us, ask the lovely staff of the Loveshak restaurant, they will point you to the event space.

• Gentle and playful practices to warm up body and voice and start releasing tensions.

• Experimenting with different singing, toning and beatboxing techniques.
• Chakra toning meditation: voicing tones to harmonize our body's energy systems.

• Group vocal improvisation jam: exploring ways to weave sounds, beats and harmonies to co-create our own tunes in a fun, free and spontaneous way.
• Shamanic sound bath: Kat will layer her voice with Tibetan singing bowl and shamanic drum beats conducive to a meditative trance state. A time for you to relax, go within and integrate.

Drug and alcohol free event - over 18 only. Parts of the event may be filmed/photographed for future promotion.
