The Italian fashion house based in Florence, Italy, is synonymous with luxury, history, and style. From the early 1920’s Gucci began by primarily selling leather goods and then later went onto to expand to equestrian equipment. With the first Gucci bag being created in the early 1950s, including its first bamboo-handled bag, Gucci also created its famous green-red-green stripe detail. The 50’s saw Gucci expand its stores, including Florence, Rome, and Milan. Now a global luxury fashion brand, this talk details its rich fashion history, and how it has become one of the most recognised luxury brands in history.
In this talk Yasmin will discuss how the Gucci fashion brand has evolved, from its early beginnings to its global presence. Exploring Gucci’s key pieces to its ready-to-wear collection. The talk will explore Gucci’s fashion designs, that have managed to remain unique while still being a world-wide commercial success. Celebrities ‘love affair’ with Gucci’s fashion is explored, alongside its continuous brand transformation, exploring the history and future of Gucci fashion.
