I have been following Fischer-Z since the early days, and have been lucky enough to see them four times playing live. John Watts is simply the most-underrated UK songwriter of all time, and has a knack of finding really good musicians to present the marvellous back-catalogue of Fischer-Z/John Watts songs. Nell's is a new venue to me, but I would definitely go back to see any of my music icons. The staff are excellent, it has a good vibe and great acoustics. My only complaint is £5.50 for a beer: perhaps Nell's could offer a discount for low earners such as myself? Overall, a really good night - REAL MUSIC FOREVER! :)

Review of Fischer-Z

Dear Sir/Madam
I would be grateful for a refund for the second night of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown please (26th. January).  When booking for just the one night (25th.) your website stated that this night was sold out.  However, you could book for the two nights which meant the 25th. was not sold out.
This was confirmed on arrival at the reception on the 25th. when we saw cash being taken on the night and the lady in reception said it was not sold out.  We were unable to attend the second night.
We feel we were miss- sold  tickets.  
However, a great evening on the 25th.  and a great venue.  Drinks were a little pricey.

Review of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown -New Album Launch Party

Very good gig at a very good club - Arthur Brown and his troupe performed very well indeed, an all-round enjoyable experience!

I saw The Crazy World of Arthur Brown here and it wasn't enjoyable mainly for the simple reason that the sound is inadequate. There was a distinct lack of bass and the rest of the sound was so turned up that it there was distortion. Making matters even worse was the fact that there were too many speakers. The venue is long width wise as opposed to length wise and they've tried to create equal sound in all parts of the venue which is impossible. This problem was noticeable especially with the lead vocals which did not seem to come from the centre as you would expect but rather was really spread out. That's very bad. I think the performance of the band was pretty good but it was difficult to tell because of the problems with the sound. They need to concentrate the sound more in the centre, add more bass, focus the vocals and probably change the whole speaker set-up.

One of the best gigs I’ve been to in a long time. I fell in love with YGSF when I saw them support MF Robots at the Jazz Cafe, so I was pleased to hear them perform in their own right. Perfect, sublime music, great crowd, love the venue (would come back to see other acts there), drinks a bit pricey but no surprise there, pleasant staff. Very happy.
