Actor and musician Samuel Blenkin & Friends present a night of electro-infused folk music. Intricate guitar and banjo arrangements, tape loops, harmonium drones combine in kaleidoscopic songs of memory, grief and joy: the best kind of Dad music.
Sam's been quietly making music alongside his acting work for many years, growing a collection of original songs from his Dad's inherited musical taste. Think John Martyn, Sufjan Stevens and Jade Warrior vibes. He's also combined the two mediums: on FX's 'Atlanta' he co-wrote the song his character Wiley performed, and also composes for screen.
He'll be joined by Marika Tyler Clarke on fiddle, and Marcus Hamblett on everything else. Join us for a night of long form sound experimentation, folk songs tinged with the absurd and the joyful, and some beers.
Marika will be offering support with Agathe Max as the Squall experimental strings project from 8pm.
