Stabbing take their name literally, impaling ears with razor sharp brutal death metal. And the wounds are about to get gangrenous, with the blades forged in the toxic Texas air that birthed subgenre legends Devourment, new-school giants Frozen Soul and, of course, riff reinventors Pantera.
In the short three years since forming, Stabbing have begun closing the gap between them and those that came before—QUICKLY; guitarist Marvin Ruiz has joined Devourment, while vocalist Bridget Lynch readily and handily filled in for an ill Ricky Myers while touring with Suffocation. The rest of the world is about to catch up, with a signing to metal tentpole Century Media: soon it won't just be those who can decipher Lynch's inhuman growls and wrap their heads around Ruiz's dizzying riffs.
The insanity has been flying across the country at absurd BPMs, following a whirlwind touring cycle that found them on the aforementioned Suffocation tour (alongside Incantation and now-labelmates Skeletal Remains), Defeated Sanity, Decrepit Birth and more. Peppered in were festival appearances, such as Chicago's ultra brutal Domination Fest and state (and label) mate's Frozen Soul's Wrecking Ball, which marked the debut of the current lineup, rounded out by bassist Matt Day and drummer Nat Conner.
As brutal as the OG demo, Ravenous Psychotic Onslaught EP and debut LP Extirpated Mortal Process were, the band's latest demo proves there's (d)evolution to come. Now complemented by Devourment's Ruben Rosas and PeelingFlesh's D Harris, plus a new mix+master by Cryptopsy's Christian Donaldson (Suffocation/Ingested/Shadow of Intent), there's further proof that the wounds can only get deeper. Oh yes, there will be blood.

IMMORTAL SUFFERING formed in 1992 by Joe Provvisiero (Guitars/Vocals) & Woodstock R.R. (Drums) with only one goal: To create brutal death metal! In 1993 Ray Lebron (Bass/Vocals) joined the band, and began working closely with Joe to create some of the earlier songs released on the first demo. In 1994 Dave Zatuchney (Guitar) joined and the four piece emerged from the depths of the studio to pummel the scene with their horrid visions. Shortly afterwards, they released their first self-titled demo.
After a series of brutal shows, IMMORTAL SUFFERING hit hard luck when Woodstock R.R. was let go due to his addiction to the darker sides of life; but the band was able to find Rudy Lopez. Rudy had been searching for the right band for some time and was close to calling it quits when he heard the demo; he instantly knew this was the band he wanted to be in. With the band back in action they worked hard to tighten the music while preparing for the new demo. The demo released in 1995 was entitled Eternal Damnation.
In 1996 came the unexpected when Dave mutually decided to split with the band because IMMORTAL SUFFERING wanted to go in a different direction. Soon after, Ralph Spadafora, longtime friend and EX front man from God For Bid decided to join. With some intriguing changes to follow, Joe would no longer do vocals and Ray would move from bass to share the Front man duties with Ralph. The band soon realized that Ray’s brutal lows mixed with Ralph's array of gruesome pitches would be the perfect compliment to Joe’s new riffs and Rudy’s beats. The new IMMORTAL SUFFERING evolved to become the brutally insane opus fans have grown to love.
After a short time in the studio the music was ready but IMMORTAL SUFFERING still lacked a Bass player and Guitarist to complete the band. So IMMORTAL SUFFERING started playing the scene. To no surprise, they started ripping through the scene looking for the missing pieces, and in late '96 after some abysmal try outs, Sasha Abayev happened to see the band play and was taken aback by how brutal and heavy the sound was with just one Guitarist. So without haste, Sasha joined the band. In search of the final piece, Leo Bakman was discovered and from then on the band was completed, with only one intention: To rip up the scene! And that they did quickly signing with Mortal Coil Records and releasing Images of Horror in 1997.
With some extremely brutal shows and crazy stage props headed by Ralph, IMMORTAL SUFFERING'S popularity began to grow. Being known as the band with crushing, brutal riffs and macabre vocals, their presence was large with fans, never knowing what the band would do next. From the baby on the stick, to goat heads, to flying chop meat, baby brains and a six foot dummy impaled on an inverted cross, the shows were an interactive experience.
Sadly, in Jan of 1998 Joe decided he wanted to leave the band and everyone agreed without Joe the band would not continue. Everyone parted ways and started to do their own thing. Joe went on to play in several bands, most notable ToeTag101. Ray went on to be front man for Internal Bleeding for several years before moving to Milwaukee and eventually playing in Darisam. Rudy and Ralph left the scene but still continued to listen to and support Death Metal. Sasha went on to play in Deimos, that eventually broke up, leading him to a 3 year hiatus before joining Sex Dolls. Leo stayed in the scene and currently plays with many bands in different genres but most notable Grotesqueuphoria and Sex Dolls.
After 15 years of slumber, the sleeping giant has finally awoke, and the mighty IMMORTAL SUFFERING resurrected! In Feb 2013 Joe, Ray, Rudy, Ralph, Sasha and Leo headed back to the studio to begin a new chapter.

Emasculator is an international collaboration of women hailing from bands such as Abnormality, Unfathomable Ruination, Cartilage, Dreaming Dead (live), PoonTickler, and Oak, Ash & Thorn. They have already established themselves as an uncompromising brutal force. They have teamed up with renowned record label New Standard Elite and will be releasing a new EP in Fall of 2024 entitled The Disfigured and the Divine.
The band was founded by vocalist Mallika Sundaramurthy in Prague in 2021. After trying out a few different members, she found a match with guitarists California based Teresa Wallace and Florida-native Morgehenna through mutual friends and networking. Mallika and Teresa had met in person multiple times through playing gigs with their current and past bands Cartilage and Abnormality (RIP). Collaborating from a long distance and utilizing modern tools online (such as Google Drive, Skype), together they wrote and released their two song promo in 2022 entitled Depraved Disfigurement. Lacking a drummer at the time, they pushed through the writing process with a drum machine lovingly dubbed “Ball Mincer.” Recorded by the band, it was then mixed and mastered by Tsun Tsun Productions (Devangelic, Epicardiectomy) who also provided the drum machine tracks. It went on to receive much critical acclaim. A limited run of CDs was self-released and soon sold out. The promo was then re-released by Sevared Records in January of 2023.
The search for the perfect drummer ensued and at last was found in Colorado based Cierra White in February of 2024. Together they wrote and recorded the forthcoming release, The Disfigured and the Divine. Opting for a fresh sound, they turned to engineer Josh Welshman (Defeated Sanity, Brodequin) for mixing and mastering. The guitars and bass were again recorded by the band. This time around, vocals were tracked by Tonda Smrčka and drums were recorded by Taylor Hahn. The band is fully satisfied with the new sound which is reminiscent of classic brutal death metal albums.
The music is the product of the band sharing back and forth online and feeding off each other’s enthusiasm, ideas, and criticism. The guitars are heavily influenced by early 2000’s underground brutal death (such as Disgorge, Deeds of Flesh, Disavowed, Inveracity) while also taking some modern influence. The drums are a combination of relentless blast beats frequently tied together with a catchy groove. The vocals are aggressive and dynamic, featuring a wide range of technique and style.
The new album delves into themes of the Goddess in mythology and legend, womanhood and motherhood, overcoming obstacles, justice, spirituality, the human experience, and growing into power. The title, The Disfigured and the Divine, symbolizes the state of the Divine Feminine as experienced in the modern world; highly controlled, often under attack, suppressed but ever-present, potent, important, fierce, and beautiful.
The album cover, painted by vocalist and artist Mallika Sundaramurthy, is a portrait of Hindu goddess Chhinnamasta. She is seen making the ultimate sacrifice for others. She has severed her own head and is feeding her followers with her life force, her own blood. In giving, she is also receiving nourishment. She has overcome death and will soon return her head to its place. She is standing on a love-making couple, meaning she is above the life-procreation-death cycle. She can also be interpreted as a mother figure who sacrifices for her children, as mothers sacrifice and even risk their lives for their babies during childbirth.
Emasculator makes their live debut this September at Texas Domination Festival and will be touring Europe in May of 2025 around Nice To Eat You Deathfest (Czechia) and will be appearing at Obscene Extreme Festival in July. This will certainly be a band to watch in the years to come.
Emasculator is:
Mallika Sundaramurthy - Vocals
