This month, we present  four-piece, London-based, jazz-infused collective SOKKYO (Live) replacing (Whispered Tales), Free Entry, deep in our speakeasy jazz lounge at The CLF Art Lounge & Roof Garden. 🔥🔥🔥

GRASS ROOTS serving as a 1st Thursday monthly platform for promising artists to ‘polish their chops and play their own choons’. These fresh and fully inclusive sessions are a must attend for patrons and participants alike.

SOKKO (LIVE) - Band on stage around 9pm, performing 2 Live Sets

For the December edition of Grass Roots, we were eagerly awaiting a live session from an enthralling jazz folk outfit named Whispered Tales. Due to Chiara Spigariol's current health issues however, the band has sadly had to cancel. We wish Chiara a speedy recovery and very much hope to see her again with her latest musical project in 2025.

To fill the unfortunate void, we have invited Sokkyo back to the CLF Art Lounge for a long overdue sophomore appearance. This four-piece, London-based, jazz-infused collective comprises Grifton Forbes-Amos on trumpet (TC & The Groove Family, Neue Grafik Ensemble and Not To Be Missed), Kavi Maraj on bass guitar (Faker Villain, Morgan Noise and Cassius Cobbson), Laurie Milton on keys (The Twist and Amy True) and Ayman Sinada on drums (Madison McFerrin, Neue Grafik Ensemble, Pangaea and Cityscape). Together, they produce a polyrhythmic mix of sounds to be enjoyed by lovers of the genre.

With each member deeply committed to the London jazz scene, they meld their individual sonic sensibilities to deliver energetic yet harmonious performances that vary every time they jump on stage. Sokkyo will soon be releasing its debut album which aims to replicate the spirit of the quartet's live improvisations.
