GR delivering a hand picked line up of the finest up & coming live bands across London and way beyond for your absolute listening pleasure. This month, we present TESTAMENTS the new project from bassist and songwriter Mark McQuillan (Live), Free Entry, deep in our speakeasy jazz lounge at The CLF Art Lounge & Roof Garden.

GRASS ROOTS serving as a 1st Thursday monthly platform for promising artists to ‘polish their chops and play their own choons’. These fresh and fully inclusive sessions are a must attend for patrons and participants alike.

TESTAMENTS (LIVE) - Band on stage around 9pm, performing 2 Live Sets

From the mind of bassist and songwriter Mark McQuillan, Testaments bring romantic, modern jazz songs to life with some of the best young improvisors in the UK whose approach to the material allows for fearless and unending exploration.

With a pious dedication to thematic clarity, McQuillan brings a considered and personal perspective both to his abstract subject matter and to a song's every stylistic detail. Testaments creates a sweeping, dynamic sound and guide audiences through a world of both ethereal beauty and intense drama with every performance.

The band's line-up includes Cameron Scott on euphonium, Rebecka Edlund on vocals, Dom Howard on guitar, Sam Nicholls on drums, without forgetting Mark McQuillan on double bass.

Grass Roots is a monthly live music affair which began life at The Vortex Jazz Club in March 2019 before briefly relocating to Notting Hill Arts Club in August 2021, now a resident monthly event at The CLF Art lounge
