RAW LISTENING NIGHT IN SUPPORT OF CHARITY, UNDER ONE SKY

Fresh from celebrating 2 years of discovering our shared humanity, July sees us take over the Little Blue Door in Fulham. Described as 'one of the best nights in London', RAW listening nights blend culture, connection and cool in some of London’s hottest venues. 

Centred around uncensored storytelling by everyday people, paired with live music and art, July’s RAW on the theme of COMMUNITY is a special one in support of charity,Under One Sky. 

This RAW will also tip its hat to our friends across the pond by featuring a very unique whiskey tasting by Uncle Nearest, a premium Tennessee whiskey brand with an incredible story that honours the world's first-known African American master distiller, Nearest Green, who also taught Jack Daniel his craft. Also helping us give a nod to the 4th of July, we're privileged to have Nate Bergman, an incredible singer songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, who's taking a break from touring to give us a special live performance.

While we're on pop ups, July's RAW will also feature a performance by Australian folk troubadour,Cooper Lower, who will be giving us a sneak peek of his upcoming EP release which itself is inspired by community. Finally,Freddie's Flowerswill also be joining the night with an engaging activation that touches on the night's theme.

Borne from one woman’s itch for collecting stories and speaking to strangers, today RAW is the first-of-its-kind, flagship event of all-female, culture agency, What Does Not.

Every RAW centres around uncensored storytelling by everyday people, paired with live music and art – curated around a chosen theme. Taking over a different slick venue every time, RAWs adapt to the space and can be intimate affairs of 100 people, to a microfestival of 350 people – with food pop ups, makers’ markets, screenings etc. Why the theme? It filters the spectrum of human experience, bringing into focus our shared humanity. 

ABOUT THE THEME 

From kind and cool, to cliquey and culty – there's no end to the types of communities in which humans find belonging. For this RAW, we'll explore the spectrum of tribes – and hear from some of Under One Sky's own people too. Join us to hear experiences of bridging gaps, finding belonging, and overcoming challenges through the power of, or in spite of, community – especially when groupthink takes hold. 

WHAT IS UNDER ONE SKY?

UOS is a volunteer-led charity that uses education, and collaboration to end homelessness in the UK and beyond. ABOUT OUR TICKETING STRUCTURE

RAWs are nights that feed your soul, not drain your bank account. Think of it as an honesty system, with tickets ‘from free’, and further tiers of ‘Pay-what-you-can’. The highest priced tickets offset our free tickets, and make sure RAW is a vibrant event where everyone can find belonging, regardless of circumstances.

We ask that you select the ticket tier that’s within your means. Remember, releasing free tickets to RAWs is a form of revolution for us - not an indication of something thrown together. RAWs are highly curated and tailored to the host space. We are completely independent and boot-strapped to preserve the intention and integrity of the event. So every pound makes a difference.

THE RAW ORIGIN STORY

RAW started life among inner circles & word of mouth. An “if you know you know” sorta vibe, before going public. But the backstory of this unique event goes back even further, stemming from WDN founder, Christine's insatiable curiosity and search for relatable, human experiences. 

Today, RAWs have come off the streets and away from kitchen tables – and take place monthly in some of the coolest venues across the city, building a patchwork tribe of good humans, doing good things.
