London alt-pop-rock act Cures and Curses returns for a headline show at Stoke Newington's The Waiting Room.
Aaron Akpojaro, the 26-year old artist and producer behind Cures and Curses, has spent 2024 blazing an impassioned trail through the industry, with highlights including Track of the Week on Alyx Holcombe’s BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock Show, and nominations for Track of the Year and Producer of the Year at this year’s Youth Music Awards. Cures and Cures' infectious alternative pop rock sound has also received acclaim from the likes of Gigwise, Clout, DSCVRD, Clunk, Pictor and 1883 Magazine.
Support comes from Keeper and Maphe:
Keeper is a hyper-pop/alternative rock artist from London, UK. Keeper sticks to his post-hardcore roots with guitar-driven riffs, whilst also mixing pop and emo rap elements to create a varied and modern sound.
Taking influences from Hyper-Pop artists such as Glaive and Dorian Electra, as well as other alternative bands like Enter Shikari and Neck Deep, Keeper - with the help of producer, Jon Cass - fuses Pop-Punk, emo vibes with Hyper-Pop inspired beats and just a hint of nostalgia.
Maphe is a Somerset-born pop artist now based in South East London. She enjoys creating a wide range of music, having collaborated on tracks for TV before (and getting a play on Queer Eye), but now settling into her own specific brand of lo-fi pop – a mix between Lorde and Maisie Peters.
Tickets available now for an incredible night of music.
