Individuals with ADHD may be more susceptible to experiencing trauma and trauma can increase the risk of developing ADHD and exacerbate ADHD symptoms, creating a cycle that complicates diagnosis and treatment. Understanding the relationship between ADHD and trauma is crucial for developing effective coping strategies and fostering resilience.
This talk is tailored to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how trauma and ADHD intersect and offer practical strategies for diagnosis, management and acceptance. Prof. James Brown, co-founder of ADHDadultUK and co-host of The ADHD Adults Podcast, will share evidence-based information and a compassionate approach to help you navigate these complex issues. Professor James Brown is an academic researcher and science communicator. James was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021. Subsequently, James co-founded and is Chair for the registered UK charity ADHDadultUK, set up the evidence-based online ADHD magazine focusmag.uk and is a co-founder and co-host of The ADHD Adults Podcast. James is also an ADHD Coach and Mentor and provides training, guidance and assistance to organisations around adult ADHD for his company JBHD Ltd.
