The Dedication
Vienna 1902-1910, the time of Freud, Klimt and the birth of the Modern Movement. Alma is twenty-one, beautiful, clever, talented, and an aspiring composer. Torn between marriage to the famous composer Gustav Mahler, and the younger, less celebrated Alexander von Zemlinsky, she marries Mahler knowing that as his future wife, he has forbidden her to compose. Renowned today mainly as a femme fatale, what influence will this have on her future life, and on her relationship with Mahler?. Sixty years after Alma Mahler's death, this psychological drama still resonates today.
