1 Primrose St. is an exciting music and arts space located in Ancoats. Situated in what used to be an abattoir,1 Primrose St. is a unique space which has the ability to lend itself to a broad spectrum of events.

Located at ground level the Hangar area of the venue incorporates elements of Ancoats industrial past with modern artwork and furniture constructed using recycled materials. The D.I.Y aspect of the furnishings and fittings coupled with the lighting and projection installations transform this dilapidated Ancoats warehouse into a truly unique space, setting 1 Primrose St. apart from the rest of Manchester’s venues.

Situated below the Hangar is 1 Primrose St’s basement; the main focus for the venues music events, the basement area pays homage to the buildings industrial heritage consisting of simply 4 concreted walls, a stage and a bar. Four way projections add to the basements atmospherics whilst the low ceiling helps contribute to the intimate atmosphere of the place.
