Review of Room At The Top Soul Club
I'm finally getting around to leaving a review of the opening night of "The Room at the Top," and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast. As an old school guy on the rare soul scene, going to venues since my early teens, this venue is an absolute gem that I've been yearning for.
The club was buzzing with energy as dancers filled the floor, and the music!! The music was electric!! The dance floor was made of wall to wall wood, and was just perfect. The low, moody lighting added to the ambiance and definitely had attitude!
Relentless, fast-paced, uptempo 60s soul sounds that kept us all grooving until 4am. The bar was a pleasant surprise too, offering reasonably priced drinks, which is always a plus in my book.
This event was a fantastic throwback to the golden days of northern soul, and it felt like stepping back in time. Gritty, dark, and oozing atmosphere – it captured the essence of what this scene should be all about. "The Room at the Top" is truly one of a kind, and I'm already counting down the days until the next one. If you're a fan of authentic, old-school soul experiences, don't miss out on this gem of a venue! Definitely unique for todays soul scene.

Review of Room At The Top Soul Club
The music was good though way too loud for the size of the venue making listening and enjoying it impossible.
There was only approx 6 chairs meaning no where to sit, there was no where to place your jacket or belongings if you wanted to dance and the venue not only been hard to find (down a back narrow alley) resembled a rat hovel, drugs were obviously been consumed in full view on the narrow staircase to the room where the actual venue was, ventilation and hygiene poor.
Also after booking and paying online as the site stated you had to. It was unbelievable that on the door the tickets were cheaper. You did not have to pre book and the door staff had no equipment to read the barcode on the ticket.
Shame as the 3 tracks my ears managed to just about cope with before going deaf seemed good.
A venue to avoid like the plague. Hopefully the DJs will find a better venue with more space, more seating and learn too loud impaires enjoyment.

Review of Diasporahhh
By far, one of the best 'music' nights I've attended. Fantastic atmosphere, intimate, funky, friendly and homely. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The staff, the DJ' and organisers. The energy in the room was electric. I didn't have time to talk, the music took over. Wow, music that penetrates the heart and reaches the soul. It was epic. Loved every minute. Made some beautiful connections. I believe good 'music' can' heal as well as inspires and yesterday I felt empowered and later hungry as I did some serious cardio om that dance floor. 🕺 Thank You. Review of DIALTONES ALT RAP JULY PARTY with '$LOTHBOI'
So coooool, a really great vibe, lots of fresh actually-talented talent backed up by the reliabliably rocking regulars Xorochi and Pixel who always deliver the goods.
Currently my fave live music night in Manc. 😁😁

Review of dermo solo tour (ex northside) + special guests
Brilliant night, both supports were very good especially the ventrelles. Dermo played a brilliant set, playing all the Northside classics and involved the crowd. Be quick though as he says after this year he won't be playing the Northside stuff, luckily I will see him in November at Shiiine On festival.
