Art Battle Manchester XXV - Clocking On at Factory
Expect to be immersed in colour this January as Manchester's most energetic art event, Art Battle MCRheads to the city’s landmark cultural space - Aviva Studios - home of Factory International.
Clocking On at Factory will see the 10 brave artists compete in a competitive painty skirmish to see who will be voted the winner. There’ll be no January Blues at Aviva Studios, as Art Battle descends on the venue at the same time it hosts David Hockney’s ‘Bigger & Closer’ colourful and immersive exhibition.
There’s also a beautiful synchronicity with the battle being in the space next to the work of one of the world’s most acclaimed and popular living artists – David Hockney.
A capacity crowd will watch a spectacle of painters, illustrators, tattooists, and street artists go head-to-head. Each will be given a blank canvas and 30 minutes to create a masterpiece. Crowds can move round the action, watching the art come to life and ultimately deciding who will be crowned champion.
Since 2013, the nomadic Art Battle Manchester has never used the same venue twice, delivering 27 sold out battles across the city in mills, warehouses, music venues, theatres, a swimming pool, a carpark, a skate park, an old Debenhams and even an old fire station!
Hosted by broadcaster/DJ, Hattie Pearson, Art Battle MCR XXV will mix up the live art with DJs, street food, a licensed bar and all manner of unexpected shenanigans.
Art Battle Manchester ALWAYS sell out, so don't leave it too late to get tickets sorted!
