Review of Barton LIVE | UB40 Ft Ali Campbell
Although the weather wasn't great (it was Manchester after all), the DJ, Bitty and then Ali brightened the crowd's spirits. It was carnage afterwards trying to get a taxi so maybe that's something that can be planned better.

Was rather disappointed at the UB40 Ali Campbell concert on Sunday given UB40 didn't come to the stage until 9:20pm, the gates closed at 5pm so the 4 and almost half hours wait for the main act wasn't what I expected, considering the concert finished at 10:30, disappointed. Ali Campbell kept disappearing from stage and a lot of other concert goers were also sick of this and left early too, still had a good time but you wouldn't of thought it was a UB40 concert at all, was super excited and hugely disappointed instead.

Review of Barton LIVE | UB40 Ft Ali Campbell
UB40 and Bitty McLean were great and really enjoyed their performances.
Unfortunately the organisation of the event and lack of information was disappointing.
Entry starting at 3pm and last entry at 5pm is unnecessary for a show where the first act doesn't start until 7:15pm. Luckily the weather meant the last entry time was pushed back until 7pm but was only announced last minute on social media when some people had already arrived at the venue.
There was a lack of information available, I was searching the FAQs and social media posts for answers to questions to no avail. I noticed several people asking the same questions on social media with no response from the organisers. Posts from the organiser advised people to send any questions to their inbox however this was also ignored.
Tickets for the event were reasonably priced but found the prices expensive once we had entered the venue. A small tray of chips for £7 and £4.50 for a brew!
The volume could have been louder but overall the sound was good and bands put on a great show despite the above.

We were told last entry was 5pm. No brollies. It was pouring down. It was heaving. Long queues at the bar. Drunk rough people. Obviously been there since it opened and already drunk.
We then realised the last entry time was changed at short notice to 7pm, and the no brolly rule got overturned - bit too late for most of us soaked wet through! Nothing happened until
7pm, when support act came on. UB40 came on at 9pm and weren't particularly brill. By 9pm a lot of the crowd were streaming drunk and either falling over in the mud or getting aggressive with their friends or innocent people in the crowd. Drugs/contraband booze was rife. The ground was a mud bath with massive puddles that some idiots decided to splash in. Lots of fights, security were all over. People being thrown out and waiting and arguing at the entrance. Never going back to Barton Aerodrome!

No slip Mats for the muddy conditions not enough security indeed one security member told me they were understaffed. A lot of incidents taking place no staff responding quick enough.

I paid for 2 VIP tickets which included fast track entry, but it wasn't. Where we were in the original queue went in 20 minutes before us, and there was no explanation as to why the VIP entrance was so delayed

Sadly the length between arriving and the act we came to see coming onto the stage was too long. It spoilt the enjoyment of the evening. Love Ali Campbell The Original UB40 but the timing was bad and the use of swearing in the performance was ghastly. Not the UB40 we fell in love with in the 80's.

Absolute ?'?show! Venue was terrible absolute chaos! Bands running hours late, absolute mud bath. All stewards checking bags on door for booze but nowhere to be seen instead, no where near enough staff for the amount of people. Told doors shut at 5 so got there at 4:30 but UB40 didn't come on til 5 hrs later! Just ridiculous! Never go there again !

A very long day. Unnecessary to have last entry at 5pm. Too much time hanging about and watching people get intoxicated with alcohol and drugs, as there wasn't anything else to do. The Dj's choice of music wasn't great. The supporting band was great but 2hrs was too long. UB40 with Ali Campbell was great but he wasn't on long enough. There should have been police on site, especially once the concert had ended and people were walking back to the car parks.

There was too big a time gap between doors opening and the event, it was kicking off everywhere because people were drunk. There wasn't supposed to be brollies, but there were stopping people being able to see.
