Cottonopolis is a welcoming, stylish bar and restaurant on Manchester’s Newton Street, with first class drinks, a Japanese kitchen, excellent music and an eye for design.
Established in November 2015, Cottonopolis is already a firm Manchester favourite with a relaxed friendly crowd and is in the running for the Food and Drink Festival’s Bar of the Year 2016.
Bringing a taste of Japan and the feel of a relaxing Izakaya to the Northern Quarter. Cottonopolis serves exceptional food and drinks all day, every day, in both the restaurant and bar and then at night turns up the volume to host some Northern Quarter’s best late night parties.
Standing out from the Northern Quarter crowd, Cottonopolis serves fresh, healthy, Japanese inspired small plates and lunchtime Bento boxes from a menu developed by Head Chef, Joe Grant. Every dish is made from top class produce, perfectly prepared and served with maximum style, minimum fuss.
Run by some of the city’s best bartenders, the bar serves a selection of unique, interesting cocktails, a varied wine selection, a sake menu and incredible fresh, Czech tank beer coming through the pumps into frozen steins.
Cottonopolis has music at its heart, with Manchester’s best selectors in residence bringing the beats and playing disco and hip-hop from Tuesday to Sunday, each and every week, plus throwing bank holiday, all-day and all-night parties that are not to be missed.
The Cottonopolis positive, no nonsense attitude is in keeping with its setting, from the building to the city itself. Owners Nick and Hayley Muir embraced the industrial elements remaining from the past uses of the listed building, and designed a series of mini installations that leave their design-led mark on the space.
