Review of The Big Scrum XL at Manchester Pride!
I have attended Scrum 4 times since it kicked off at Cruz Sub101. Each time I hope it would get better but Iv never lasted past 2 hours per stay. Baffled by what seems exact same set of songs played - Steps, Sinita, Eurovison entries and Billy Ocean, etc. For reasons not known on this particular busy Pride Scrum night incurring a £5 Pride price hike when I attended just before midnight the air con was not switched on resulting in rather unbearably stifling temperatures. Sweat began dripping off me even while I queued for my first drink but I gave up on the idea of refreshment after 20 minutes of being continuously ignored by bartenders and my rear groped by over sized blokes-who really should be advised not wear just jockstraps and nothing else. Deciding to stay put and get into the atmosphere I searched for a cool spot by a fan. Doing so meant dodging groups of virtually naked men stood in circles of three / four or sat on top of each other locked together in arms deep throating each other. I get this is aimed at being a bears' space but where were all the sporty guys? A former keen rugger player myself I feel this sports kit night is just for the adults who opted out of sports on PE day making up for lost time from standing on the side lines. Bored of feeling I was stood on them tonite myself I asked the DJ why the same set choice ? He relented the organizer insists he plays what he is ordered to. So I politely challenged the organiszer - the one who always wears the same blue rugger top - and he retorted 'that this is His night..' End of discussion. The non Pride nights have never been more than half full so why not ask for my thoughts? Anyhow I lasted 45 mins before abandoning the place for fresh air on street level. A fully clothed streaker fleeing the pitch!

Review of Aftershock Manchester Pride
Disappointed on two fronts.
First, nothing about event picked up the atmosphere or theme of Pride, so didn't feel part of the weekend's celebrations.
Second, just personal taste here, the music was too beat-driven with not enough melodic elements.
But great to be amongst a great bunch of guys on the dance floor. Thank you!

Review of The Big Scrum XL at Manchester Pride!
Too small a venue for the number of tickets sold. Bar was far too small for the number of people there you couldn’t get a drink. After an hour we went upstairs to Cruz. Drinks seemed cheaper there too
