About

Live From The Grill returns for a third year to Deansgate Square for a weekend of BBQs from some of Manchester’s best restaurants, incredible musical talent, drinks and quite simply some of the best vibes around. Plus, there’s £3.50 pints all day and other drinks deals exclusively for Manchester’s Finest subscribers.

Join us on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September for an unmissable weekend of great tunes, great food and great drinks in one of the city centre's most exciting new neighbourhoods, New Jackson.

We’ve secured some of the city’s finest foodie talent to fire up the grills this year. Leading the lineup is iconic British steakhouse Hawksmoor, alongside Knight's Caribbean BBQ who were such a huge hit last year we had to invite them back. We’ve also got a Japanese Robata by Kitten, Food Sorcery Cookery School and Chit 'n' Chaat who will be on hand with Indian street food. For afters Gooey will be providing the ice cream.

Both Saturday and Sunday’s day-long parties are free to attend with tickets. Saturday is all about some of our favourite DJ talent, with the likes of Rinse.FM residents Habitat, DJ G2 & Friends, soulful drum and bass purveyors Rare Groove (with a special live vocalist guest too) and the unmistakable sounds of Manchester’s longest-running club night Funkademia.

Sunday is curated by our pals at Gigpig and is all about the bands. Expect performances from rising jazz superstar Kemani Anderson, electro-soul singer Yemi Bolatiwa, 60s and 70s-inspired blues duo Corduroy Moustache, singer-songwriters Ruby J and Grace Kelly, as well as a set from DJ Lenny.

Putting the 'grill' into Live From The Grill are Hawksmoor, who will be serving up the ultimate steak sandwich made up of Hawksmoor rump with a touch of bone marrow gravy, crispy shallots and pickled mushrooms served open-style in a sub roll.

Knight’s Caribbean are back with jerk chicken, curries and a range of tempting sides lined up.

Kitten will be firing up their robata grill and serving up an unmissable Wagyu burger and a miso chicken sando.

And, if scorched meat isn’t your thing, then Chit n Chaat will be providing a mix of meat-led, vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes like fish tikka and paneer kati rolls.

Over at the bars, subscribers will get special treatment and discounts on drinks all day. There will be a 'subscriber-only' express queue at our lager bar serving pints for £3.50. Salvi's will be providing a summer spritz bar, and Spirit of Manchester Distillery will be pouring a specially curated cocktail menu for the event.

The weekend is completely free to attend, but make sure you grab your free ticket in advance. You’ll also need to be a Manchester’s Finest subscriber to take advantage of the drink offers, so if you aren’t one of those yet, what on earth are you waiting for?

We’ll see you at the grill.

Live From The Grill 2024
Location: Deansgate Square, New Jackson, Manchester, M15 4TN
Dates: Saturday 31 August & Sunday 1 September 2024
Times: 12pm till 8pm
Tickets: FREE

We expect it to be busy across both days, especially if the weather does us a solid! To ensure entry, it’s best to arrive early to avoid the queues, although people will be arriving and leaving throughout the day so capacity will fluctuate. It’s first come, first served - having a ticket doesn’t guarantee entry. Once the square is full, we’ll be operating a one-in, one-out entry system.
