If I wasn't at the front, my experience would have been very different but this was an amazing gig.

So tonight we went to see Alain Johannes in Manchester at Factory 251. If you like your rock and like it sludgy and full of desert, this is a must. Just getting to see Alain, legend that he is (and trust me here, legend is the only adjective suitable) was the most moving and fantastic experience. But we got there early. And got to see: Syncolima - riff based sludgy rock from Mansfield. We won’t hold that against them 😉. Great set fellas Earl of Hell - proper desert session/stoner from close to Edinburgh. Just sooooo good. Doubled up as Alain’s band. Gorilla Riot - Manchester band, blues southern rock. Great addition to the lineup. Alain Johannes - no words for how incredible it was seeing him in this venue. Last time we saw him was at Wembley, playing his socks off with rock royalty. Company that this man totally belongs in. Go see him. Get there early. This is a gig you will never forget.

About

Factory Records was a Manchester based British independent record label, started in 1978 by Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus, which featured several prominent musical acts on its roster such as Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, The Durutti Column, Happy Mondays, Northside, and (briefly) Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and James. Like the label 4AD Records, Factory Records used a creative team (most notably record producer Martin Hannett and graphic designer Peter Saville) which gave the label and the artists recording for it, a particular sound and image. The label employed a unique cataloguing system that gave a number not just to its musical releases, but to artwork and other objects, as well. REDEVELOPED, RECRAFTED AND ENTIRELY REDESIGNED FOR THE START OF A NEW DECADE, FACTORY RECORDS INFAMOUS CENTRAL MANCHESTER OFFICES REOPENS AS A LIVE VENUE/NIGHTCLUB, FAC251 “THE FACTORY”, MIXING LIVE BANDS, INDIE AND DANCE INFLUENCES ACROSS THREE DIFFERENT FLOORS
