Excited to announce our next line up - specially selected to make you dance.
Saturday 23rd November we have two of the country's most respected collectors and selectors joining forces for our next Dance Now - Talk Later.
Bristol's Mike Shawe @mike_shawe is a longtime buddy of The Social Service and one of the nicest humans around. Mike draws his influences from decades of listening, world travel, club experiences and late night conversations, with his main love being the golden-era of 70s and 80s Disco, Boogie, Funk and Soul.
Djing since the early 80s, Mike is a passionate vinyl collector, digger and DJ and has been holding the torch for underground music in his home city. Mike’s deep love for soulful music is still as strong as ever promoting his own Hot Buttered Soul events since 2007 whilst guesting at various party’s and hosting a monthly show on SWU FM.
Joining Mike will be a dj who we've been closely following for a long time - Sam Don. If there’s one constant with Sam, it’s a dedication to moving his audience through music. Whether that’s playing out at clubs across the world; uncovering gems for his sold out ‘For The Love of You’ and ‘Just A Touch’ compilations on Athens Of The North; his exploratory Free Association show on Soho Radio; or his new record label, Sweet Free Association - Sam is all about discovering unique sounds that bring life to the dance floor.
A voracious digger, Sam can often be heard showcasing his expansive tastes on guest mixes for the likes of Mr. Bongo, Phonica, Danilo Plessow (MCDE) and most recently for Manchester-based party and physical mixtape series All Kinds of Joy.
Following his ‘Just A Touch’ tour, taking in more than 10 countries and a trip to Japan in the pipeline, Sam has somehow managed to squeeze in a trip to Old Trafford!
We are proper excited to be warming up for these two and can't wait to hear what these two seasoned djs and collectors will play to get the Morgans dancefloor moving. 🙌🏾
