About

Russell T Davies's ground-breaking drama set in and around the Manchester gay scene. Set in and around the Manchester 'scene' in the 1990’s, this ground-breaking drama, written by Russell T Davies, documents the lives and loves of three young gay men: Stuart Allen Jones (Aidan Gillen), Vince Tyler (Craig Kelly) and Nathan Maloney (Charlie Hunnam).

EVENT INFORMATION

It’s been 25 years since Russell T Davies’ ground-breaking drama Queer As Folk made Manchester’s Canal Street the centre of the universe, and in this celebration event we bring back together the makers and stars of the hit TV phenomenon!

The event will focus on an hour long conversation with creator Russell T Davies and producer Nicola Shindler, including cast and creatives from the show, hosted by a moderator.

Alongside stories of the origins and creation of the show, this event will look at the impact the programme had on the TV landscape, and on people who were inspired by it to become their queer selves and even move to Manchester to live the life they saw on screen. We also take a look at the carers and experiences of the cast and crew in the last 25 years.

After the panel, join the after party in New Century Hall's downstairs food-hall and bar, transformed for one night only, into circa 1999 Canal Street.

Dance like mad... like Stuart, Vince and Nathan. The question is...will you cop off?
