Review of Manchester Film Festival
Second MFF for me and enjoyed this year's just as much as 2023.
Well organised, good venue and GREAT value for money. Saw some excellent films again this year.
Thank you MFF and Skiddle!

Review of Dagr
Probably the worst film I will watch this year. Just a bunch of dislikeable hyperventilating people running around shouting 'Oh my God ! Oh my God !' and waiting to be picked off by some indistinct supposed druid.

Review of Love Lies Bleeding
This is like nothing I've ever seen before! Right from the beginning, the sights and sounds assault your senses; Ms Glass doesn't shy away from anything. It's dark, dingy, dirty and, at times for me, sickeningly visceral. And it's very violent; at times difficult to watch as there are so many anomalies. Butit's also sensitive and loving, which, as a lesbian, I found the love story very true!
The acting across the board is superb! Anna B brings a particularly heartbreaking element to her character!
Kristen Stewart commands the screen with her gaze, impenetrable, carrying every scene she's in with a role that's her own and suits her edgy, grungy persona! I was breathless watching her trying to contain a situation spiralling out of her control, her angst becoming desperate! I'm a control freak, so I was invested in her character! Lou's backstory would make a good film in its own right with her implied murky past!
